Every month, 'Regards from Somewhere' shows you places you've maybe never heard of and brings faraway places into your living room. The best thing: the proceeds go to the 'Stadlaktion' in my hometown Pöllau.

Portraits of Places You've Maybe Never Heard Of

There are millions of settlements, towns or cities in the world, however, I only know a fraction of them, let alone the small number of places I’ve actually visited. Therefore, every month of these calendars feature a new stunning destination which I hadn’t heard of before travelling there myself. On the backside, you'll find some extra information of every place, together with some extra pictures and fun facts.
There are so many beautiful corners on this planet, so let’s appreciate them – and, take care of them.

Plastic Fischer

Plastic Fischer was the first company in the world to collect plastic in rivers to prevent it from entering the oceans and harming marine biodiversity. Until now, Plastic Fischer has collected almost 1000 tons of River Plastic and has created 90 full-time Jobs in India and Indonesia. The organization ensures that the collected material is managed responsibly and tracks their social and environmental impact through a third-party. For every month in this calendar, 1€ goes straight towards Plastic Fischer which finances the collection and management of 1 kg of River Plastic.
So, every calendar helps to get 12kg of Plastic out of rivers – the weight of 1200 plastic bags.

Stadlaktion Pöllau

The 2025 calendar is dedicated to all families, but especially to those who do not have the privilege of celebrating Christmas without worries. Therefore, the net proceeds from this calendar will benefit all families in need of support. For many years now, a significant amount has been collected through the so-called 'Stadlaktion' in my hometown Pöllau before the holidays.
What makes me particularly proud is that my mother carefully distributes the proceeeds to people in Pöllau who, for various reasons, need help. So, with each calendar, 15€ go directly to the Stadlaktion.
